Hailing from Virginia, The Super Vacations is a five piece outfit that is equal parts so-cal garage and 60s influenced psych. The band consists of Rob Ulsh, Ryan Ulsh, Mike Hill, Bladen Day, Ross Guthrie.

Montero – Rainman by Mistletone
 

Taken from the forthcoming debut 7″ by Montero, ‘Mumbai’ b/w ‘Rainman,’ due out on vinyl & digital release Sept 2nd via Melbourne’s Mistletone Records.

Montero is a new project from Melbourne music compadre, comic book and video artist Bjenny Montero (of Treetops II, The Brutals, The TM Band). This soft-rock/slow-wave supergroop features the musical smarts of Guy Blackman (Chapter Music honcho and balladeer), Geoffrey O’Connor (Crayon Fields), Cameron Potts (Ninety Nine, Baseball, Cuba Is Japan), Bobby Fresh Bravington (Cuba Is Japan) and Gerald Wells (of Treetops II, The Brutals, The TM Band/Baptism Of Uzi).

Great Dads – Sun Ritual

Great Dads is a new group spearhead by the Invisible Hand frontman, Adam Smith from Charlottesville, VA., both tracks are taken from the “Crunk Goblins” EP on the bandcamp.

The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative (Charlottesville, Va.) presented an artist and poet Anthony Restivo‘s “Far Off and All Aflame” (February, 2011) with original composition “Sun Ritual” by Great Dads aka Adam Smith (of The Invisible Hand).

The song was originally appeared on their 2010 self-titled debut full-length album on Funny / Not Funny Records.
The Invisible Hand consists of Adam Smith, Thomas Dean, Jon Bray, Adam Brock.

The Both tracks are taken from the forthcoming fifth full-length “Tripper” by Eric D. Johnson’s Fruit Bats, due out on August 2nd via Sub Pop. It was recorded at WACS Studio in Los Angeles with Thom Monahan. Eric D. Johnson has been also known for his sideman duties including Califone, Vetiver and The Shins, and more recently, soundtrack work for films like “Ceremony” and the soon-to-be-released “Our Idiot Brother” (directed by Jesse Peretz and starring Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, and Emily Mortimer).
