A Hawk and A Hacksaw – You Have Already Gone To The Other World by Qu_Junktions

Stream the track ‘We Can’t Have Nice Things,’ co-written by author Jack Pendarvis and Andrew Bird, from Kelly Hogan‘s long-overdue third solo album “I Like To Keep Myself In Pain,” due out on June 5th via Anti- Records. Pre-order, HERE.

Hogan’s first new album (since 2001’s “Because It Feel Good”) was recorded by an absolutely all-star band consisting of R&B legends Booker T. Jones and James Gadson (Bill Withers, Beck), Gabe Roth (of Daptone Records, the Dap-Kings) and Scott Ligon (The Flat Five Chicago, NRBQ), and the other songs were written by M. Ward, Vic Chesnutt, Magnetic Fields, the Mekons’ Jon Langford, the Handsome Family, Bird, Freakwater’s Catherine Irwin, John Wesley Harding, Robbie Fulks, Gabriel Roth and Robyn Hitchcock.




















We recorded 4 songs this summer at our friend Brian McTear’s studio in Philadelphia and we’re real happy with how they came out. We of course just released an album a few months back and we’re not feeling particularly anxious to ask you for more money, so we’re just gonna give some songs for FREE (at Facebook page).

Dr. Dog – Take Me Into Town


‘Take Me Into Town’ is one of Dr. Dog‘s new songs, their latest full length “Shame, Shame” has been available on Anti.  And Juston Stens, the former drummer of Dr. Dog has a debut EP, “Juston Stens & The Get Real Gang” (Park The Van) is available digitally now.

The Weakerthans new DVD-CD “Live at the Burton Cummings Theater,” set for release on March 23 via Anti-, the live DVD was recorded in April of 2009 as the band toured in support of their album “Reunion Tour” with an expanded line-up featuring trumpet, violin and female vocals, playing songs in front of an adoring and enthusiastic hometown crowd.  (above photo by Brooks Reynolds)
