Ryan Francesconi’s new solo guitar recording entitled “Parables”

Ryan Francesconi is a composer, conductor, guitarist, Balkan musician, and cyclist living in Portland, Oregon. His playing can be heard on recordings by Joanna Newsom, RF, RF & Lili De La Mora, The Toids, Trio Mopmu, Sleeping At Last, Dosh and others. He’s the author of the experimental sound software, Spongefork, and one of the main proponents of Bulgarian folk music in the United States. Recent highlights include arranging Joanna Newsom’s 2010 release “Have One On Me“, conducting the Chicago Symphony, composing for the Sony Pictures feature “Open Season 3.”

Dark Dark dark – Bright Bright Bright
‘Bright Bright Bright ‘ is the title track for hailing from Minneapolis/New York/New Orleans chamber-folk sextet DARK DARK DARK‘s latest 6 song EP, following up to their 2008 debut full-length “The Snow Magic.” The EP is out now on Supply and Demand Music, produced and mixed on analog equipment by Tom Herbers (WHY?, Low, Retribution Gospel Choir, The Jayhawks, Fog), recorded at Sacred Heart Studios in a former church overlooking Lake Superior. They are currently recording new material for the next album (due Fall of 2010) at the historic Music Box Theatre in Minneapolis with Tom Herbers again.
