Bahamas – Caught Me Thinkin (from “Barchords”)

A follow-up to 2009′s debut album “Pink Strat” (named after his guitar, a pink Fender Stratocaster) which was nominated for the Polaris Prize and a Juno for Roots / Traditional Album Of The Year, a Toronto-based singer-songwriter-guitarist Afie (AY-fee) Jurvanen a.k.a. Bahamas release his new full-length “Barchords” via Jack Johnson’s label, Brushfire Records on Feb 7th. “Barchords” was recorded with his touring drummer Jason Tait and bassist Darcy Yates, at a cabin in rural Ontario, where he recorded “Pink Strat” album.

Doug Paisley – What About Us


Canadian singer-songwriter from Toronto, Doug Paisley (also known as a frequent collaborator of Will Oldham aka Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy) releases his second full-length “Constant Companion,” due out on October 12th via Brooklyn-based independent label No Quarter.  It features a handful of guests including his fellow Toronto artist Feist on two songs, Garth Hudson (The Band) on keyboards, Julie Faught (Pining), Bazil Donovan (Blue Rodeo) and Jennifer Castle.   ‘What About Us’ and ‘What I Saw’ (featuring Leslie Feist) are taken from the album.  Paisley performed with Chuck Erlichman as a duo Russian Literature, and also played with Erlichman for “Stanley Bros: A Loving Tribute” project.
