Listen, Real Estate bassist Alex Bleeker’s newest track taken from the forthcoming second album “How Far Away,” due out May 28th via Woodsist. It features his fellow musicians as “the freaks” including Mountain Man’s Amelia Meath, who provides gorgeously weighty backing vocals on four tracks, Woods’ Jarvis Tanviere, Real Estate’s Jackson Pollis, Big Troubles’ Sam Franklin.
Stream the title track from the forthcoming Ducktails (a.k.a. Matt Mondanile of Real Estate) full-length “The Flower Lane,” fourth album and his first for Domino Recording Co.. Due out on January 29th, 2013 in North America and January 28th, 2013 in rest of the world.
The album was recorded over the summer of 2012 with his fellow New Jersey band Big Troubles, and contributions from Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never), Joel Ford (Ford + Lopatin), Madeline Follin (Cults), Jessa Farkas (Future Shuttle) and Sam Mehran (Outer Limitz). Mixed by Al Carlson (Peaking Lights, Oneohtrix Point Never).
The ten songs, along with a stunning cover of founding Clean/Chills member Peter Gutteridge’s “Planet Phrom”, on “The Flower Lane” move across a range of expressive pop songs that are bright and expansive, but venture even further with forays into saxophone leads, synth lines and piano accompaniment that would have been at home on the early records of sophisticated guitar pop icons such as Aztec Camera and Prefab Sprout. –Domino
Smugglers Way is Domino and Ribbon’s first ever limited edition zine featuring FIVE individual, multi-colored flexi discs of EXCLUSIVE, UNRELEASED songs from Dirty Projectors, Real Estate, Cass McCombs, John Maus, and Villagers. Smugglers Way was sold exclusively at indie retail for Record Store Day, April 21st 2012.
The zine comprises 24 pages of original art and prose from Domino and Ribbon artists. Highlights include a short story penned by James Yorkston; a long form poem by Laura Marling; short form pieces by Alex Bleeker (Real Estate), Ade Blackburn (Clinic), and Tom Fleming (Wild Beasts); illustrations from Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Andrea Estella (Twin Sister), Conor O’Brien (Villagers) and Jon Hopkins; photography from Jana Hunter (Lower Dens), and an original arranged score of music by Owen Pallett. Bjorn Copeland of Black Dice designed the cover and Rob Carmichael at SEEN is responsible for the art direction and layout.

Real Estate – Green Aisles
Another new song from Real Estate’s forthcoming second album and first for Domino “Days,” due out on October 18th via Domino. The album was recorded with the help of Kevin McMahon (Titus Andronicus, The Walkmen).
