“Cowboy Worship is an attempt to give life to some of the music that didn’t make it past the scalpel. From a blown-out version of “Green Eyes” featuring Harvey Milk’s Stephen Tanner, to a darker and mellower “I Can’t Dig It” as Damon McMahon originally arranged it upon writing the song in China, many of the original intentions for the music that were lost in the Love sessions are revived. In addition is a band version of Through Donkey Jaw’s “Lezzy Head,” featuring Dunes mainstays Jordi Wheeler and Parker Kindred (Jeff Buckley), and most significantly, a shining cover of This Mortal Coil’s interpretation of the Tim Buckley classic, “Song to the Siren,” featuring Ben Greenberg (Hubble) on guitar.”
Amen Dunes‘ upcoming new EP “Cowboy Worship” including ‘Song to the Siren’ (Tim Buckley cover), is due out on January 20th via Sacred Bones.
（This Mortal Coil 『It’ll End in Tears 』4AD, 1983）ティム・バックリィの「警告の歌（Song to the Siren）」のカヴァーも収録。

Wymond Miles (of The Fresh & Onlys) has released his solo debut EP “Earth Has Doors” via Sacred Bones Records. ‘Hidden Things Are Asking You To Find Them’ is the first track from that EP. And The Fresh & Onlys’ new album, as their follow-up to last year’s ” Play It Strange,” will be released this spring via Mexican Summer.
“Four years ago Wymond Miles, guitar player and songwriter in San Francisco’s The Fresh & Onlys, began writing solo material thematically based on the concepts of eschatology, anthroposophy, and Gnostic and Hermetic symbolism. Drawing from a vast musical pool of inspiration, including Scott Walker, Robert Wyatt, Arvo Part, and Nikki Sudden amongst others, Earth Has Doors is Miles’ first solo release.” —Sacred Bones Records

Amen Dunes – Lower Mind from “Through Donkey Jaw”
Amen Dunes, the solo project of Damon McMahon, began with recordings made in the fall of 2006 in upstate New York. McMahon moved to China and he stayed in Beijing for the next few years, writing and recording only occasionally. With the release of DIA on Locust Music in 2009, however, he decided to move back to the States and form a band around Amen Dunes. In 2011 Amen Dunes’ latest album, McMahon’s first proper recordings in almost five years, “Through Donkey Jaw” was released from Sacred Bones Records, after the release of 2010′s “Murder Dull Mind” EP which was recorded at his apartment in Beijing.
