‘Grace for Saints and Ramblers’ is taken from the upcoming album “Ghost on Ghost” by Sam Beam’s Iron and Wine, due out on April 15th (4AD) and April 16th (Nonesuch) on CD, and vinyl at Pre-orders also include a limited-edition print of Sam Beam’s handwritten lyric sheet for the song and a download of the complete album available April 16th.

“Recorded in New York and produced by Beam’s longtime associate Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Califone, Fruit Bats), helping achieve Beam’s vision was a group of stellar musicians including Rob Burger of Tin Hat Trio, Steve Bernstein, Tony Scherr, Kenny Wollesen, and Briggan Krauss of Sex Mob, jazz drummer Brian Blade, trombonist Curtis Fowlkes of the Jazz Passengers, bassist Tony Garnier (Bob Dylan’s band), cellist Marika Hughes, Maxim Moston and Doug Wieselman of Antony and the Johnsons, and Anja Wood. Burger (Tin Hat Trio) has worked with Beam intermittently through the years and handled arrangements for strings and horns on Ghost on Ghost.”

Trouble by Iron & Wine by Suicide Squeeze Records

Sam Beam aka Iron & Wine has covered George Michael and Lowell George’s Little Feat on the limited edition “Two Sides of George” 7″ via Suicide Squeeze Records‘ singles series. The Single includes a couple of covers of George Michael’s ‘One More Try’ (from AV Club’s Undercover session) and Little Feat’s ‘Trouble.’

Suicide Squeeze’s 2012 series also include the likes of King Tuff, White Woods, Nobunny, Wax Idols, Cloud Nothings, and Julianna Barwick.

Finally long awaited fourth full length – the first album in over 3 years, Iron & Wine‘s “Kiss Each Other Clean” is due out on January 25th, 2011 via 4AD/Warners.  Its first three-song single ‘Walking Far From Home’ is available on November 26th. The album was recorded in Chicago and Beam’s hometown of Austin and produced by Brian Deck, and features Stuart Bogie (of Brooklyn’s Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra).
