Laike is a one man project consisting of Swedish artist Christofer Ståhle who has played in several different bands for many years. His solo debut full-length “Långt från stadslivets dån” is available now on British label Les Cousins which has several reissues of Davy Graham‘s back catalog, and its bandcamp.

released February 27th, 2012

“Långt från stadslivets dån” (Far away from the noice of the city) was mostly recorded on the country side outside the town Lund where Christofer lives. The sources of inspiration are many but during the last years Christofer has been very much into British folk bands from the seventies like Steeleye Span, Fairport Convention and Pentangle. These type of songs have been combined with more rytmically driven songs. 2 years ago Christofer lived in Shanghai for 6 months and the improvisations you can here between some of the songs of the album were recorded in an oil cisterno of a Shanghai suburb. Right now Christofer is working on a new album.

Tape – The Wild Palms

‘The Wild Palms’ is taken from the 5th studio album “Revelationes” by Swedish Trio Tape, co-released from Immune Recordings with Häpna.  It is their first since 2008’s “Luminarium” and the follow-up to their collaboration LP with Bill Wells.

Swedish trio Tape was formed in 2000 by brothers Andreas and Johan Berthling with Tomas Hallonsten. Taking cues both from pop, experimentalism, and minimalism their sound has become recognized internationally and is clearly something of its own. Their first album Opera was released on the Häpna imprint (which Johan is a co-owner of) in 2002. Working intuitive, all by themselves, they created mini symphonies out of electronic sounds paired with a stunning melodic lyricism. With an array of electronic and acoustic instruments at hand they have gone on to release three additional full length albums (Milieu, Rideau, and Luminarium). In 2006 they collaborated with Japanese duo Tenniscoats for their album Tan-Tan Therapy. The same year they recorded in Tokyo with Japanese quartet Minamo for the album Birds of a Feather. Tape have performed worldwide, playing shows in Japan, China, Taiwan, and tours of Europe and the US. Since Luminarium was released in 2008 the band have been diligently recording in their Summa Studio in Stockholm. The results of their labor is the new album “Revelationes”.    (Immune Recordings)
