Tashaki Miyaki, a duo (Lucy – vocals, drums and Rocky – guitar) from California, has released a couple of new tracks on their bandcamp now. And their limited pressing of 500 Vinyl “sings the everly brothers” is available now though Rough Trade, HERE.

Juan Iglesias’ inspiration for the video is thus:
“East meets West. With its wild horses and vast landscapes, this video plays tribute to the American West while at the same time drawing inspiration from minimalistic Japanese imagery.”

The song is taken from the Tashaki Miyaki debut EP which is available to download HERE, through The Sounds Of Sweet Nothing‘s Bandcamp.


A Californian two-piece band, Tashaki Miyaki are Lucy (vocals, drums) and Rocky (guitar), pals from Los Angeles and San Francisco. They named the band from a Japanese director Takashi Miike (三池崇史).

Both cover tracks are taken from the same “Tears On My Pillow: Part I,” the third installment of the Cactus-Mouth/Unholy Rhythms collaborative mixtape series, as Sore Eros’ ‘Palisades Park’ (Freddy Cannon cover) previously posted. It features 14 covering songs from the late 1950’s through the early 1960’s including Sam Cooke, Patsy Cline, The Everly Brothers, Maurice Williams & the Zodiacs, Connie Francis, Bo Diddley & the Carnations and others.
